Getting started
Tap Choose regions and download the provinces you ride in. Then search a start and a destination, hold the map to drop a point, or tap knooppunten in the order you want to ride them. Planning and search then work without a connection.
ByBike runs on an iPhone with iOS 17 or later, for all of Belgium.
On the ride
Tap Start to follow your ride. ByBike then uses your location with the phone locked too, so the directions keep coming; a ride therefore uses more battery. Leave the route and the app finds a new one.
Turn location on in Settings › ByBike if the app does not know where you are.
The map shows no streets
Open Regions and tap Update for that region, or remove it and download it again. Older downloads have no map in them.
A mistake on the map
The map, the knooppunten and the cycle highways come from OpenStreetMap. You can report or fix a missing cycle path or a wrong number there; it reaches ByBike with the next update of the regions.
Ride safely
A ByBike route is a suggestion, computed from data that can be wrong or out of date. Follow the traffic rules and the signs along the road. Where a sign and the app disagree, follow the sign. Mount your phone on the handlebar instead of holding it.
Deleting your data
ByBike keeps nothing about you outside your phone. Swipe a region to the left in Regions to remove it; delete the app to remove everything. More in our privacy policy.
Sources and licences
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The regions ByBike offers are made from that data and are available under the same licence. The lettering on the map is Inter, © The Inter Project Authors, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
ByBike is an independent app and is not affiliated with Toerisme Vlaanderen or the provinces that signpost the knooppunten.
